Expansion joint strip

It is a construction element that fills expansion joints. It is an important part of many building structures because it allows materials to respond to environmental changes and prevent damage.
What is an expansion point strip
Expansion joint strips are used to fill expansion gaps, i.e. gaps in building structures, for example in concrete walls, facades, floors, paving or tiling. Its task is to reduce vibrations and tension between different building materials.
When constructing roofs, expansion joint strips help prevent the formation of cracks, deformations and damage to the roof structure. They are used between different parts of the roof, for example on large areas of sheet metal roofs, in the area of the ridge, around chimneys or skylights.
What material is it made of
Expansion strips are made of various kinds of flexible materials such as:
- Foam (e.g. polyethylene) – light and flexible material, ideal for floors.
- Rubber or elastomer – material resistant to moisture and certain chemicals, suitable for outdoor use.
- Kov – metal expansion strips are used mainly in industrial floors.
Expansion strips are important for stability and long service life of buildings, as they compensate for the movements of materials and protect the structure from damage.
