STN 73 1901

The Slovak technical standard STN 73 1901 specifies the requirements for designing roofs of residential and non-residential buildings. This is an important standard not only for the construction of new buildings, but also for the reconstruction of roofs on existing houses.

The standard contents

1. The standard specifies general requirements for roof design, including definitions and terminology.
2. It also defines the requirements for individual layers of the roof covering, such as waterproofing, thermal insulation and load-bearing structures.
3. It also deals with requirements for roof expansion and drainage. It specifies guidelines for designing expansion joints and drainage systems to prevent roof damage due to temperature changes and precipitation.
